So it’s now my turn to take a stab at this blog writing bit, and truth be told, I’m not much of a writer, hence my career being in the visual area of the creative industry. But none the less, it’s always nice to partake in different tasks (hopefully I won’t get writer’s block!!)
So being that I am not a writer firsthand, I have been struggling with what topic to write about. Hmmm…. interesting marketingcampaigns, my passion for paper, or upcoming design trends of 2013? Amidst my thought process, I get interrupted by the sound of Sheri (our Account Manager), who is standing beside Jason’s computer (our Creative Director), and suddenly bursts into a song and dance; and I can’t help myself from laughing. And suddenly, now I know what to write about!!
Now I have worked in the creative industry for over 6 years, and am still recently new to the WJ team, and I must say that truthfully, I have never had a job where I’ve had such a great time with my co-workers!! Now it may sound a little cheesy to say, but if you’ve actually spent some time in our office you would know exactly what I’m talking about. The team that we have at WJ is truly unique!! We each have our own personality, our own flavor, our own “je ne sais quoi “that we bring to the table and it makes being a part of the WJ team even better. From Jason’s custom vocabulary and voices to Kris’s worldly accents, and Sheri’s well… everything, it’s hard not to be entertained all day. Shannon’s always got you covered with her master Google skills, and Esther pipes in with her wealth of dev knowledge (that I wouldn’t even know where to begin comprehending). And of course the joyous sound of Heather’s cackling laughter that you can hear all the way in the creative department!! And last but definitely not least, we have our Account Manager Amy, who videos in from Saskatoon (I feel like I’m on the Jetsons when I chat with her via video conference). We’ve also recently added another three new faces to the WJ team: Joelle, Sara and Marie, who are proving to fit in just perfectly!
With that being said, I don’t want it to sound like it’s all fun and games, because anyone who knows the ins and outs of a creative agency knows that there is always a lot of work to be done (and its all due yesterday!!) But it’s refreshing that the WJ team always handles the job with a high level of creativity, talent and a ‘work hard play hard’ attitude. So next time you’re in the Eau Claire area, stop by the office and say Hi! I bet you’ll be laughing your socks off by the time you leave. And to the staff at WJ, I raise my cup of (glorious) caffeine, and say “Here, here” to all the laughs, and many more to come!
I hope you enjoy some pics that demonstrate our great team!!
