'The Grande Plan' Tourism Campaign _ Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association

On a mission to tell – and inspire – stories about their corner of Alberta, the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association (GPRTA) enthralls residents and travelers alike with all the possibilities of the area. From annual events and cultural centres to hidden nature trails and “flightseeing”, the GPRTA makes sure that every moment spent in the region is worth remembering.

As a destination marketing organization dealing with a pandemic, the GPRTA faced a lot of new challenges in the spring of 2020. Working closely with the organization, we decided to try to focus more on the locals already here – inspiring people in the area to go out and experience more of it, in ways they never had before.

From there, we designed the “Grande Plan” campaign: ready-made itineraries rolled out for different day or weekend trips, bolstered with social support and plenty of community buzz. Traffic to the website and social profiles saw a huge increase in the months following the launch. Public awareness of interesting new “things to do in the Grande Prairie region” and great local businesses reached new heights as people emerged from lockdowns and craved new adventures.

In 2022, acting as Agency of Record, our brand redesign, destination marketing plan, digital ad campaign, and various other small projects continued the previous year’s momentum.
