Brand Aid
Awareness and its recent winners
We know that good marketing is hard to come by. Brand Aid is an annual competition for non-profit organizations that need the marketing and communications assistance that William Joseph provides.
Organizations in Calgary, Saskatoon and Las Vegas – the cities which William Joseph serves – apply for free marketing services. We assess each one, on a 100-point scale, ranging from the history of the organization to the services it provides.
The winning organization receives $25,000 in strategic and graphic design services.
Brand Aid takes care of organizations that care about our communities.
Clean Calgary – 2009
Clean Calgary makes Calgary a little bit cleaner, a little bit greener. And we chose this non-profit as the 2009 recipient of Brand Aid.
Clean Calgary was founded in the 1970s as a litter cleanup operation, but it has evolved into an environmental organization with a broader purpose. In the last 30 years, it has launched a number of initiatives, including a consumer eco-store and a private corporate waste/recycling analysis software and consultation program.
The organization requested a brand strategy more reflective of its overall operations. William Joseph led the group through a rebranding, which included a new name – Green Calgary – and all the necessary collateral to support the brand.
Saskatoon Zoo Society – 2010
The Saskatoon Zoo Society is a non-profit environmental education organization, dedicated to fostering respect for nature. It is run by volunteers and doesn't have the budget to undertake a brand overhaul. It also struggles to attract new donors.
As the 2010 recipient of Brand Aid, the Zoo Society wanted to use its $25,000 worth of marketing services to redesign its website and develop a Sponsorship Package that could be sent to potential donors.
William Joseph created not only a new website but also an eight-page package that clearly outlines sponsorship opportunities. Our website redesign streamlined the Zoo's information and put its amazing imagery on display. It also boosted user retention by making it easier to learn about fundraising, programs and the Zoo in general.
Junior Achievement of Saskatchewan – 2011
Junior Achievement of Saskatchewan provides business education to elementary and middle/junior high school students in Saskatchewan. The organization offers free programs that develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills in our youth.
William Joseph staff saw their own entrepreneurial spirit embodied in the Junior Achievement principles, and selected the organization as the 2011 Brand Aid recipient. The service and design package will help recruit volunteers to support the organization's programs.
